Fresh searches in William Tyrrell case

Police have announced new searches will be conducted in the hunt for William Tyrrell, who disappeared seven years ago.

Detectives from the strike force investigating the case will announce more details about the searches later this morning.

William Tyrrell was three years old when he vanished from the home of his step-grandmother at Kendall on the NSW Mid-North Coast in September 2014.

Despite an exhaustive police investigation, no trace of the missing boy has been found.

An inquest into his disappearance was held last year. 

Entrepreneur buys into South Sydney club

Technology billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes has bought a share of the South Sydney rugby league club, alongside actor Russell Crowe and businessman James Packer.

The trio will own a 75 per cent share of the club, with the rest being owned by the club’s members.

Mr Cannon-Brookes, the co-founder of Sydney-based software company Atlassian, said he was “excited and humbled” to become part of the club.

“I’m looking forward to partnering with Russell and James and bringing what I can to the table to help the club grow to even greater heights,” he said.

The entrepreneur owns a minority share in the Utah Jazz basketball team in the United States and is a prominent climate change campaigner, recently pledging $1.5 billion to slow global warming.
